October 2nd, 2010 in the San Francisco Bay area. As in the last two years, the Society will again be hosting the Nike veteran's picnic in the Marin Headlands above site SF-88L. Bring your family members. Let them learn what you did while you swap stories about it. Our picnic will be 10 AM to 2 PM. After our picnic, Nike Missile site SF-88L, now a National Park Service museum, is scheduled to open, so you'll be able to tour the finest restored Nike Missile site.
The picnic and missile sites have beautiful views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate and the Golden Gate bridge, and the Pacific ocean. In this location at this time the weather can be anything from hot and dry to cold and foggy and can change in a very short time. Come prepared to add or remove layers.
Please RSVP by September 25th.
We would like to have a reunion barbeque at Delta 2/1 Nike Hercules site in Dichtelbach Germany summer of 2011. July 4, 2011 has been suggested as a date. Just in the beginning planning stages so any suggestions are welcome. What do you guys think?
